City Sewers

Current Construction

10-Year LA Sewers Program

The Bureau of Engineering is currently managing over 100 sewer design and construction projects throughout Los Angeles. These improvements are being built so that we can continue to provide you, our customers with reliable service.

Sometimes this work goes unnoticed because it often takes place underground. But occasionally, work must be done in streets or alleys near homes or businesses. The City takes care to reduce noise, dust, traffic, and any other potential construction nuisance to a minimum. We also meet with and mail updates to project neighbors before and during construction to get input and give progress reports.

Here are some sewers that are currently being built.

Air Treatment Facilities -
La Cienega and Jefferson

One of the Department of Public Works’ highest priorities is treating objectionable sewers odors and preventing those odors from entering nearby neighborhoods.  PROJECT PAGE

Alvarado Crandall Relief Sewer
The City of Los Angeles Department of Public Works will soon begin constructing a relief sewer along Alvarado Street from Bellevue Avenue to Beverly Boulevard and along Beverly Boulevard from Alvarado Street to Rampart Boulevard.  PROJECT PAGE

Avenue 45 – Arroyo Drive Relief Sewer
The City is now building a major sewer that will be located next to a portion of the Pasadena Freeway (110), from Figueroa Street and Avenue 45 to Arroyo Glen Street and Avenue 63. The project will add greater capacity to the currently overburdened Eagle Rock and Highland Park area sewers.  PROJECT PAGE

Buchanan Relief Sewer
